It's on...

Remember wayyyy back before the Chickamauga Marathon, when I was all... I'm going to lose 10 pounds before the marathon! And remember how I didn't?

Well, after the marathon, I decided to continue to try to lose that weight and I actually did. I lost 13 pounds, in fact!

Check. Me. Out.

Before:

And After: (As in this morning...)

The difference is subtle in the pics... I wanted to wear the exact same outfit as in the first pic and there is definitely some baggy-ness going on there. Woo hoo!

Anyway, enough with the bragging... At this point, I'm VERY close to my ideal weight. I think I'd like to lose (in total) 15-17 more pounds. And if I do that, I think I would be at a healthy, lean, kick-ass weight. So, my thought process is... let's hurry up and finish this, while I'm on a roll.

So... when Vandy-Montana posted this last week about how he's all "off the beer" and such, my competitive juices started flowing. And that's when I approached him about a contest. (No, not that kind of contest). A contest that will test our discipline, a contest that will decide who is in more control, a contest of who can shun beer and nachos (or buffalo wings) the most often.

Ladies and Gents... I present you with...

The Contest of Who Can Lose the Most Pounds Before The St. Louis Marathon (we're working on an actual name... I'll get back to you).

The rules are simple.. he and I weighed ourselves last week and whoever loses the most pounds by the Monday prior to the Marathon (April 13) wins. The wager?? Well, besides bragging rights, the winner also gets their post marathon meal of Cheeseburger/s, fries, and milkshake/s paid for by the loser. (Yes, the wager does involve unhealthy food, but... we'll have just ran a marathon... when else can you eat such an unhealthy meal?).

Realistically... I'm hoping to lose 8-12 pounds, but considering the fact that I haven't lost an ounce since our official weigh-ins... that might prove to be tough. I've got 60 days though... And just like the race... this is a marathon, not a sprint (sorry... couldn't resist).

So, do me a favor... if you see Vandy-Montana out anywhere in the next 60 days, be sure to buy him a beer. Or three.

Aside from total commitment to your goal, sabotaging Vandy-Montana’s efforts is also an effective way to secure a W. Therefore, I suggest you find a way to convince V-M that unhealthy and fatty food is actually healthy. I saw this in the movie Mean Girls and it worked flawlessly. Good luck!

Spike's method of sabotage is flawed in that I will not accept food from other people (kinda like luggage when I go to the airport)...AND I read and re-read labels before consuming. But I like how you are going to have your minions out trying to take me out. Send them to tin roof with a sharpie while you're at it...
