Recap of 2013

Yup. Because it's December and I'm in recovery mode and I ran less than 20 miles TOTAL last week... here's a 2013 recap post for you to skim through. See you bitches in 2014! (Where, I will inevitably have some sort of "looking forward to in 2014" post about all the awesome shit I hope to do in the new year. Training starts soon, I promise but shitty blog posts will probably still be coming your way, anyway ).

Favorite Race:

Where I PRed and ran one of the best executed races of my life. Also, felt pretty fucking amazing while doing it.

Favorite Gif(s):

It's a tie. I couldn't pick between the two. Seriously, the first time I saw that cat on a roomba, I laughed till I cried.

Favorite Trip:

Oregon.

I may not have had the race I wanted, but The KoB PRed and I got to spend time with my best friend. Win.

New favorite place to eat before a long run:

Once I figured out that Gluten was my saboteur for races/long runs, I had to come up with a new place to eat the night before races/long runs. Jason's Deli salad bar became my favorite place. FREE ICE CREAM, PEOPLE!

Favorite Memory:

Weekends at the River over the summer.

All of them.

Favorite Recipes I tried this year:

"Crab"Cakes

Homemade Tofu Bacon   I make this tofu once a week now.

Best Decision:

Adopting this crazy, adorable, stinky guy.

Favorite thing with the Bitches Team:
Putting on races. In 2013 we organized a Half Marathon, 5K, and a beer mile. Runner up: (Schooling bitches in the marathon relay for a 2nd year in a row).

Favorite Entertainment:

The Wire.
OMFG. The KoB and I started watching this series on DVD over the July 4th Weekend and we just finished with the whole series a couple of weeks ago. AMAZING. Best show ever.

Favorite Spectating Moment:

Watching the KoB go sub 2:50 at the Monkey. PLUS, I got to run around the course with my friend Liz, my BFF Melissa, and my puppy dog... it doesn't get much better than that!

2013 was a great year for my running. It was the year I finally broke 4 hours in the marathon, I PRed in like every race distance, and I knocked out two new states with marathon finishes (Michigan and Louisiana). But, I think the biggest game changer for me, was that I finally figured out that I can't eat Gluten before long runs. It was a good year and I'm looking forward to seeing what 2014 brings!
