Bah Hambug.

Well, just as I should have expected.. setting myself a crazy/dumb ass goal has not made me excited to go out and run more... in fact... it has made me want to run less.
You'd think, being a 31 year old fairly self-aware individual I'd have known better...

Digressing...

UGH. What can I do to get excited about running long distances again???? TELL ME PEOPLE, I NEED HELP.

I understand. Sometimes take a break from it. But if not, get a buddy!!! thats what i did and i love it sooo much more now.

I know we all hate 5ks, but why not set your sights on short/middle distances for a while instead of mega-gargantua races? Try running 25-30 mpw for a couple months and take the pressure off yourself. Then go from there.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend a break at this point...Just a break from, say, ultras.

And let's not forget that trying to build mileage right at the start of horrific summer heat is a major PITA.
