Sucky, sucky hills.

Ever since Monday (day 1 of training) I'd been DREADING Thursday (aka... Hill Day). Every morning, as I'd run up the hill that I use for hill workouts (it's on all my regular routes), I'd think to myself... "oh god, I can't run up this hill 3 times in this humidity." So, imagine my surprise when I awoke yesterday morning to POURING rain outside. Woo hoo, happy dance!!

But, this morning was a bright and sunny (dammit) day, so my hill workout was on the agenda. I hopped out of bed and tried to get out of my place as quickly as possibly. I wanted to be out there at the absolute coolest time of the day (which... incidentally is NO time when the morning starts off at 91% humidity).

I started my run and my quads were a little tight. At first, I thought it was just my imagination. I mean, what better reason to postpone a hill workout than quad pain, right?? Eventually I got warmed up and the pain subsided (although now, they are pretty dang sore.. uggh.. damn super high wedge heels from yesterday).

But, I made it. And it was only mildly crappy. I mean, it was hotter than hades and nothing is worse than continually trying to find a dry place on your shirt to wipe your face, but only ending up wiping the sweat off your face with your own sweat, embedded in cotton.

This weekend... I'm going to run a 10 miler and then I'll either take Sunday off or run 5-6. I haven't decided yet and I'm waiting to make that decision when the weekend rolls around.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
