And award for the worst hostess goes to....

Yes, It's all true. I wish I could say that Amy's words were all lies, but alas...the truth is out. We didn't do all the hiking and running that we planned. However, I think a lot can be said about those with good intentions! At least we have positive, I-can-do-it! attitudes! The glass is half-full rather than half-empty....you get my point. It's true that we often set goals for ourselves that we all too often fail to follow through with... or at least not in the time-frame we had imagined. And that's what happened this weekend.

But you see...Amy is being too nice. She puts much of the blame on alcohol consumption when really, the blame should be placed on me. I'm not sure what the deal was, but all weekend long, I was not my usual energetic, spunky self. I simply felt zapped of all energy...rundown and tired...like I could fall asleep at any moment. On our drive back from the Saturday run, I seriously could not even finish a sentence. All I could think about was getting home to take a nap. It was pathetic. (And after she left on Sunday, I went straight to the couch and slept about 6 hours, even though I got a full 7-8 hours of sleep the night before!)

So I'm pretty sure I was the most boring host, ever, in history. Because I was so exhausted, our runs were slow and short and caused much complaining from me. However, to give myself a tiny bit of credit, I did have some painful shin splints. But, I could have probably run more than I did, had I not been so tired and quick to call it quits.

I had a fever all day yesterday so maybe I was just trying to fight off an oncoming illness...who knows....but I do feel really bad for my constant complaining and zero personality while she was in town. Sorry, Amy:(

A quick side note-I'm also behind on my runs for the (second) first week of training so I'm kinda bummed about that as well. Normally, I'd just add some miles to the remainder of my weekly runs to catch up, but with my healing shins, I'm nervous to do that. I'm anxious to see how the feel when I run this afternoon.

Anyway, back to the weekend. Even with all of my negative vibes, we still managed to have some fun and laughs and it was good to catch up, in person.

We rocked out on some Guitar Hero! (Well, at least one of us did...I won't name any names)

I bought a sweet bike for $20 at a garage sale!

I helped (ok, watched) Amy make a berry cobbler for her baking blog

Ummmm... you're exaggerating a lot... I had a great time!

But, I'm curious... why am I laughing so much at guitar hero??? Maybe thats why I kept getting booed off stage.

It looks like the two of you had a pretty good time - besides if you can't enjoy a visit (even if that means sneaking in a few SHORT runs) then why do it?

Awe, who am I kidding...I'm just jealous I didn't get any berry cobler...that sounds good! ;)
