Breakfast of Champions?

This is what I eat every morning. There are few exceptions… usually on the weekends, but during the week, I never stray.

Half of a whole wheat English muffin, lightly toasted with just a dab of light cream cheese
1 tangerine
1 apple
8 oz of low sodium v-8.

In the summer, the fruit changes to watermelon, blueberries, and strawberries. All-in-all, this meal is less than 400 calories. It also contains 3 servings of fruits and vegetables. Score!

Next weekend, I’m in a wedding. And, I’d like to be able to dance and at the very least breathe in my bridesmaid dress, so, I’ve been trying to watch my calories a little closer this week. So, I’ve been scrimping calories wherever I can. Which means, Monday and Tuesday, I skipped the muffin and cream cheese. I just ate the fruits and the v-8. And you know what? I totally wasn’t hungry for lunch. Like, usually with my regular breakfast, I start to get hungry and thinking about lunch around 10:30. And by 12:30, I’m starving. Monday and Tuesday… it was 1:00, before I realized… oh, yeah…. I need to eat some lunch.

I mean, that makes no sense whatsoever.

Oh well...

In other news, I did my track workout this morning. Have I mentioned how much I love track workouts? Ahhhh.... I love running on the track. I do have to say though, that they aren't quite as enjoyable when its windy as all get out and raining. Ugh. I hate the rain. Apparently, Mother Nature can't read or has an assistant who reads her mail. Ugh. Ugh.

The funny thing is, I think I ran my recoveries as fast or faster than my actual intervals. How does that work exactly? I felt so sluggish out there today. It's like my legs didn't want to move fast. So, instead of really pushing myself (like I probably should have) I gave my body a break and didn't really force anything. Well, until the last interval. Here's what the intervals looked like:

4:31
4:19
4:22
4:15
4:27
3:55

Keep in mind... I'm supposed to be running 4:20s. So, that's not too bad. To be fair, I didn't really warm up as much as I probably should have. I basically just started right into the intervals, I think my times would have been a little quicker initially, if I had ran a mile warm up or so. Hmph. At least I got it done.

On tap this weekend: 17 miler and then an 8 mile run. I'm going to try to run the 17 miler tomorrow. I do so much better on the weekends when I get my long run out of the way on Saturday. Otherwise, it looms over me all weekend.

Such a healthy breakfast! Maybe Mother Nature is on vacation & her assistant is surfin' the net. Good luck w/ your 17miler.
