Training for the 2007 ING Miami Marathon has officially begun! Coach Hal is letting me slide into the training with an easy 3 miler, which I completed this morning. I say easy, but honestly, I've been slacking so much lately that my fitness level is waaay down. So really, that 3 miler was tougher than it should have been. I think the mugginess made the time drag by...I was getting used to the cooler and drier temps! I guess fall was just flirting with us.
The second 10k of the Road Race Series (which I will report on later in the week) was yesterday and I was nervous as to how my heel would feel. But two blister Band Aids and two pair of socks proved to get me through the race pain-free (but with hot feet)! I'm stocked up on Band Aids and I even got some new socks that come up higher on the heel.
My feet have been really sore and tender in the new shoes so I picked up some gel inserts as well. I'm all set!
Tomorrow I am going to do an easy run in the morning...no more than 3 miles...just so that I can get back into the habit of waking up early. And then after work, I'm going to Shelby Farms to do some hill repeats.
No slacking from this point on!!!
run, rest, eat, bitch, buy things, cross-train, blog, repeat.
