Watching other people run and reading your remarks about your most recent run is no fun for me. Don't get me wrong-I'm your biggest cheerleader and I love seeing you progress with your training, but man, it's like torture! I wanna be running, too!!

My mind is good. Mentally, I create workouts and imagine completing them with ease. Ok, so maybe the "with ease" part isn't realistic, but nonetheless, just completing them, period, would be nice. At least I'd be getting somewhere in my training and would be keeping my body in shape. I feel like I'm missing out on all the fun!

Completing our first 26.2 was wonderful, but as a result, I ended up with an injury in my left foot. Doc says possibly a fracture, possibly something else. Great. So I wear the boot for awhile, and after a couple of months, it seems to be feeling better. Yay for me! I'd heard about people who were out of commission for a year with a fracture. A couple of months, I can handle.

So I was slowly building up my mileage again and it was going pretty well. Until last week.
I ran this great 7 mile trail run, but I guess my foot didn't care too much for the pounding on the ups and downs of the trail. And now I'm set back again by that same spot on my foot.

Horrible timing, too. I'm right in the middle of a race series. I have a 5 miler on Sunday...so we'll see how that goes. I'm definitely running it, but maybe I won't be going for any PRs.

On the upside, it doesn't seem to be as bad as before. I can at least walk without feeling pain and even running shorter distances is alright, too. So I guess I'll just test it. If it hurts, I'll stop. And in the meantime, I can hop on the bike, jump in the pool and kick some ass, Billy Blanks style.

(putting my white coat on...) I think you just need to build back up on the foot. I think the two back to back runs last week did it for you. didn't you do like a 7 miler and then a 5 miler in less than 24 hours???
