Gear Review

Yes, MORE STUFF.

Strangely enough, I am shopping much less in brick and mortar stores, but I'm buying a ton of shit online lately. Unfortunately, most of the crap has been returned because it doesn't fit me.

I have bought 9 pairs of jeans in the past 6 weeks. You know how many pairs I've kept?? ZERO. It SUCKS. Since my legs are pygmy length... shopping in a store for jeans is basically impossible, because no one stocks petite jeans. So, I must shop online for shorter lengths, but of the 9 pairs of short/petite length that I have bought... 5 of them were still too motherfucking long! WTF?

Selfie!
Seriously, almost.

I did break down and go into my local, annoying as shit Lululemon store. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SOME OTHER COMPANY COME UP WITH WORKOUT GEAR THAT FITS ME AS WELL AS LULULEMON SO I CAN STOP GOING INTO THAT AWFUL STORE.

I walked out with 2 pairs of these shorts which I have fallen IN LOVE with:
Work it Out Short from Lululemon

I tried the blue pair on, but of course, I ended up buying 2 pairs of black. Anyway... I LOVE these shorts. They don't have a lining (which is my preference. The linings never fit me right and I like to wear my own undies) and they are made of a stiff polyester fabric that breathes and dries super fast (same fabric as my favorite shorts from last year). I love these shorts so much that they are all I've worn since I bought them. I just handwash them with some Woolite in the sink after my runs and hang them to dry (without a lining they are dry in no time) and BOOM they are ready to go again.

I am probably going to pick up one more pair... maybe two if someone is willing to buy one of my kidneys.

I also found a couple of super cute tanks there on the final sale rack for $24 each. So, I picked up the only two in my size that they had left. I know, something under $50 at Lululemon? You're thinking I'm going to tell you that a unicorn rang me up at the register, too. But, sometimes their sales are legit.

I also picked up this top from Target a couple of weekends ago:

I didn't try it on, but it was cute and only $14.99. And I've loved Target workout gear in the past. Unfortunately, it's not my favorite. The fit is a little weird... the fabric is very clingy along the hemline (just what I don't need) and it's kind of a sweater-y feeling fabric. I'll wear it and probably get my money's worth out of it, but it's going to be one of those tops that I grab when everything else is dirty.

Anyone else had some luck in the workout department? And if you're a shorty like me... got any recommendations for petite slim bootcut jeans that aren't AG, JCrew, Hudson, AE or Joe's because none of those worked.

You know that Athleta at Green Hills opens on Wednesday?? I rsvp'd to their private party!! YEA!!!

Also, jeans - I'm like you...and I have found the Gap to be the best ever jeans and they are not too expensive and at the Cool Springs mall, the guys there will help you find the right fit. I have 3pr of them including the skinny - not too skinny - which I roll at the cuffs.

As for being too long, I always wear at least a 1/2-1" shoe with them. And if you do think they are too long, then get them altered! It's like $9.00 some places. But, I buy regular length and they fit my pigmy style legs just fine.

Let me know how you do!

Why don't you go to Nordstrom and have them tailor your jeans for free? It's a bit of a pain to buy the jeans, wash them, and take them back there, but it's got to be easier than returning 9 pairs of jeans.

Alternatively, buy jeans and then pay someone to tailor them.

Jill- YES! I'm excited about Athleta... I've never had any of their stuff, but I get the catalog and I'm excited to see their stuff in person.

The Gap... hmmm... good thinking. Skinny jeans I have no problem with, cause they never seem to make those mega long.

Julie- Yes, Nordstroms, this is a good idea... I've never had good luck with having regular length jeans altered, because my knee height is different than someone with normal length legs, so, it would require having the jeans not only hemmed, but also tapered in. So, I just kinda gave up on all that. But... maybe getting a petite pair altered would work. Hmmmm...
