Anxiety?

When I go to bed at night, I'm usually out for the night. I don't get up and pee, I don't wake up to weird noises... I sleep soundly. But, last night I had a shitty night's sleep. I woke up 3-4 times panicked that I'd slept through my alarm (and the first time I woke up, it was only 11:30pm. Haha, oops).

I started thinking about it and I realized that this is a regular Tuesday night thing. And you know what Tuesday nights have in common (besides a shitty television lineup)? I have to get up early the next morning for Intervals.

It's crazy. I don't feel anxious about them, or nervous... but, apparently something is going on in my head that makes me freak out in my sleep and wake up a zillion times afraid that I'd slept through my alarm.

I think part of me is afraid to run my Intervals without Steve and without a treadmill (still haven't had to join a gym)... and so of all the days, that's the one day a week that I fear oversleeping. It's dumb and it's pissing me off that it's jacking up my sleep. GRRR.

It's also kind of embarrassing. I mean... who gives a shit? It's just one day of running. If I oversleep, I oversleep. There's always TOMORROW or the next day or the day after that. Who is a Type A sleeper? Jeez. I'm whack.

Who else is whack? Does anyone else have trouble sleeping before a particular workout every week?

I don't recall ever losing sleep over a workout, but I've had an entire week of bad sleep leading up to really important races.

Running's stupid.
