The Problem...

So, I've just realized that there's a problem with setting a new goal before your race calendar is clear...

You see, for the past few weeks, I've been going over my training log with a critical eye. And that's good. It's making me realize how much work I'm going to have to do in the upcoming months to achieve my goals... But, ummm.. it's also bad. Because I have to run a marathon on Sunday. And, it's not exactly a cake walk of a course. And if I now know that I was undertrained for the Chicago Marathon... well then.. I'm DEFINITELY undertrained for the Monkey (particularly since I haven't really been running much since Chicago).

The Monkey

So, let's just say that my confidence is completely shot to hell at this point. Back when I originally signed up for this race, I wanted to have a Course PR. Last year I ran a 4:39 (which I was thrilled with) and this year, I'd love to run about the same time... but, I also feel like realistically... it's just not there for me right now.

And... that's okay, right? Because I've got big things coming up and I'm very excited about pushing my body and seeing where it can take me in the upcoming months. So, Sunday is just going to become a fun run in the park.

Hopefully I won't die.

Don't die, I'd have no one to stay with in February.

Yeah, think of it as a fun run. You're less likely to start fast and burn out...and you could surprise yourself!

I'm in the same boat... I wasn't trained well for Chicago and I've hardly run since. At this point, it's all about just going to have some fun with you all...
