We rented a house that was close to Newgrange...
Sadly this view from the street is the most we got to see of it!
But we spent much of time (eating, drinking, and using wireless connections for work) in the town of Kells, which was about 10 minutes from our house...
Clearly, they had a thing for crosses... Surprisingly, the Book of Kells is not in Kells, though... it's at Trinity College in Dublin.
The most important thing on the agenda for Ireland was to check out the ruins of our ancestor's Linen Mill... Which was on the property of this house (and our ancestors house was the original house, but it's been added on to, renovated, etc... that you can't really tell which part was the old house)...
Our first glimpse of the mill... in a pasture with lots of friendly, dairy cows...
After checking out the mill we headed down the Eastern coast and checked out Carrickfergus... which.. surprise, has a castle..
And a beautiful harbor...
We spent a whole day getting drunk in Dublin... First up... at the Guinness Brewery, where we enjoyed the freshest pint you'll ever get at their gravity bar that overlooks the entire city of Dublin...
Views from the gravity bar... it was a beautiful, sunny day...
Now, it's on to the streets of Dublin... you may not can tell.. but I'm pointing my finger...
And again.. I'm pointing my finger... Dude.. I can't help it if I'm a natural born
Clearly I am stoked to be back in one of my all time favorite towns!! I <3 DUBLIN!!!
Approaching THE Temple Bar...
Beers at Temple Bar...
Lunch and Pints at The Quay Resturant... It was our last full day in Dublin and on vacation...
We were in Dublin on April 29, the day of the Royal Wedding... So it was on tv in all the pubs...
The Ha'Penny Bridge...
The Sniffey-Liffey! The Liffey River that cuts through Dublin.
Last photo from Dublin... why, it's me... ordering Jameson shots at the Auld Dubliner Bar...
And lastly... I was sad to leave these little guys that were outside of our windows at the house in Ireland...
It was an amazing trip...
