They couldn't deny my awesomeness for much longer...

So, every month my local running club, the Nashville Striders, puts out a magazine. Inside there are some articles that pertain to running, usually written by other Strider members and there are always lots of race entry forms AND pictures from previous races. It's a cool perk. If you live in Nashville or the surrounding areas and aren't a member of the Nashville Striders you should sign up! For $20 a year you can support running in your community.

Anyway... every month when I get my "Funrunner" (the name of the magazine) I eagerly open it and immediately look at all the pictures...

This Month's Front Cover:

Now, I've been a member of The Nashville Striders since May of 2006. And, I've ran a crapload of races that they've had a photographer at. Yet, have I ever made it into a copy of the "Funrunner?"

Nooooo...

In the last issue, the right side of my body made an appearance. But, all you could see was my elbow and my knee... I just knew it was me because I had seen the series of pictures from that race posted on the website. Don't get me wrong, I was SUPER stoked about having body parts make it into the magazine.

So, this month when I got the issue... I glanced through quickly... they had photos from one race that I ran in December (my 5k PR race). I looked at all the pictures and immediately thought. DAMMIT! Scorned again!

And then I went back through and looked at all the photos a little more closely... to see if maybe more body parts made it...

Hmmm... the girl in the middle right pic looks kind of familiar (and also very attractive)...

Wait...

Could it be??

DUDE.

That's me!!!!! I finally made it! Woo hoo! And, from a PR race, no less. Although, can we talk about my stride??? Am I even picking up my feet? Jeez... from looking at that pic you'd never know I picked up 2nd in my age group that day!

BOO YA! Ahhhh... it feels good to have finally made it. I'm just waiting for someone to ask me to autograph their copy.

(I knew the DOUBLE thumbs up would work eventually).

How exciting!!! I found myself wondering recently what I've got to do to get myself in the calendar, haha.

We now have a celeb in our midst. (Ha, and I kinda have to agree that I probably wouldn't have pegged that stride as an AG placer :-))

That is great that you made it into the magazine! It is such a great feeling to see yourself in pictures. Don't be so critical about your stride! I am sure it is really great and they just caught you at a weird moment!!

Great picture. Way to put the double thumbs up to good use.

Awesome! I am often appalled by my stride in race pics. I try to use the picture to my advantage, but thus far, almost every race has yielded at least one poor form shot.
