The end of this week concludes the Hal Higdon Marathon Recovery Plan. And, Hal, I gotta say... you did me right. I didn't follow it to a tee (I'm a nonconformist, I follow nothing to a tee), but I did follow it pretty damn closely... including that 9 miler on Sunday that I SOOOOOO didn't want to do. So, now it's time to look forward...
This part of running really excites me... it's the part where I'm looking at my calendar for the next 4-5 months... plotting races and long runs around my schedule, perusing various training plans, and reading reviews of possible marathons.
So, without further adieu... here is my life for the next 4-5 months...
Feb 14, 2009 Frostbite Half Marathon Lebanon, TN (hoping to legitimize a 2:05ish half marathon time)
Mar 14, 2009 Tom King Half Marathon Nashville, TN
and drumroll please.....
April 19, 2009 The Go! St. Louis Marathon in St. Louis, MO (lame name, I realize).
I'm excited about it. It's good timing for me... My week of taper will coincide nicely with the end of tax season.
Looking further ahead... the general idea is to knock out three marathons in 2009. Spring, Late Summer, and Winter. And then... by the end of 2010 I'm hoping (crossing fingers and toes) that I'll be able to ATTEMPT to BQ for 2011. I realize... that's a long way off... but it's something that I've got my eye on. And let's face it... I gots nothing but time :)
More on the impending training (18 weeks out is Monday! Yikes!) to come...
run, rest, eat, bitch, buy things, cross-train, blog, repeat.

Sweet, can't wait to hear more! What training plans are you looking at using?
I'll see you at the Frostbite and maybe the Tom King! My best friend is running St. Louis and tried to twist my arm to join her, butI think I'm up for the CM full marathon for my first 26.2. Did anything influence your decision to run St. Louis instead of CMM in April? Like, does the CMM full route suck or anything?
