I've always wanted to have a green thumb. That's why I was so excited when I got a little yard to play with and try my hand at gardening. Turns out I'm not too bad at it! I've been successful with my flower gardens and keeping my yard a pretty, lush green. This is all wonderful and makes me very happy, but what I'm most excited about is that I now know that I can grow food! All of this lettuce came from my garden:Isn't it beautiful? And it's delicious, too! I'm so proud of this lettuce, I'm like a proud mama. I can't wait to find out if the zucchini and tomatoes that I planted come out equally wonderful!
Here are some more pretty flowers and herbs that I didn't kill:
I had a big homegrown salad for lunch today and I'm counting on it giving me tons of energy for my 5 miler this afternoon! (Although I'm kicking myself for not getting out there this morning when it was in the 60s! I did my strength training instead and now it'll be in the 80s for my run). Ugh.
But, I gotta stay positive about it cause it's going to be a loooong hot and humid summer if I don't.
I love the heat.
I love the heat.
I love the heat.
And Banner Boy loves it, too!

Wow... that lettuce looks amazing! Nice.
Yum, I bet that was a pretty awesome salad...and I'm totally jealous of your flowers. I try but I'm not that good at the flower thing (but hey my local shop love the fact that I keep coming back to buy more!)

wow, looks great. i'm incredibly jealous that you have a yard to play in. i have a small balcony garden in pots, but it's not the same.
Ok,I'm too jealous that you can grow stuff. Where I live,I hardly get enough sun to grow jack! I ended getting on of those Aerogardens & have success w/ that. I need to keep repeating your mantra as well(I love the heat,I love the heat).
