Well, at least I can still eat!

All of this non-running that I'm doing makes me a little nervous about putting on some extra pounds. Even my "fat-day pants" are getting tight and I don't really feel like spending money on a new wardrobe. Plus, the holidays are coming up and I know I'm going to be consuming the extra calories.
Normally I eat pretty well. I like to incorporate a lot of color into my diet, which is the thing to do these days and I love fruits, veggies and whole grains of any sort. I should also tell you that I love chocolate. And pizza, burritos, cheeseburgers and fries. Especially fries. I like to get a good mixture of healthy and junky. I'm sure my body hates me for this.
Its usually ok since I've just been able to "run it off,"bu now that I can't do that, I'm trying to watch myself a little more. I've never been a calorie counter, but just tried to make better decisions whenever I wanted to lose some weight.
But today I came across this: http://www.thedailyplate.com/
I've seen these kind of websites before, but had never used one. But, today, I thought...now is a good chance to use this free tool! You can create a basic profile (you can get a gold profile if you pay) and enter how much weight you'd like to lose or you can just opt to maintain your current weight. The calculator spits out your daily allowed intake and then you just enter what you eat into your food journal. You can search any kind of food, even search by brand (my favorite part). Then you just click the button that says, "I ate this" and maybe adjust your serving size and it will be added to your journal. It's really kind of fun!
One reason I never really counted calories was because I didn't know how many were in like, a banana or a salad, but this makes counting calories easy!
Check it out!

Yeah, I know. And I forgot to even mention that you can keep up with calories burned throughout the day!
