Over the past few days, I’ve mulled it over. It’s a big decision. It’s a 4+ hour decision and it’s an $81.50 decision. I don’t take these things lightly, folks.
I went over to the website yesterday to make sure they hadn’t changed the headphone rule (I swear, the next marathon I run will be a nike or apple sponsored race, I shouldn’t have to worry about such things, the roads are blocked off for chrissakes!), but of course they hadn’t. But, I did notice one thing that kind of disappointed me…

Projected Number of Participants: We project the following
approximate number of participants in the 2007 races:
Marathon . . . 2,000 and Half Marathon . . . 5,500.
hmmm… that seems kind of small, no? I mean, if I did decide to run this race… I would likely be completely by myself for a good portion of the race. Solitude, I like… but solitude for a couple of hours?? Ehhhhh… doesn’t sound like a fun time, does it?
So, I was really just feeling like I didn’t want to run it.
But then I saw this picture...
Nevermind the fact that this is obviously a staged photo. For one, dude's in a mall and two, dude's hair is perfectly gelled. But, check that out... a long sleeve tshirt, baby.
Count me in, Memphis.
