Well, I know I said that I was going to try to take it easy this week... but I started looking over my calendar and realized that next weekend I'm running a 15k race, which is 9.3 miles, so that will have to be my easy week. So, I really need to do 12 this week. REALLY need to, because the weekend after the 15k, I'm running a half marathon.
I can't just say I'll run 12 Saturday or Sunday morning, because I am hopping a flight at 6am on friday morning to head to New Orleans & Baton Rouge for the weekend.
So, I've been invited to run with a group on thursday afternoon. Most of the group is running 8-9, but a couple of others are running 12, so I'm going to try my damnedest to run the 12 with them. So far this week, I've ran 5 miles every morning (I gotta start inching that up to 6), and tomorrow morning I'm going to go ahead and get up and run 3 and then tomorrow afternoon attempt to run 12. It's going to be tough...
1. I have become accustomed to running in the morning without the sun.
2. I have become accustomed to running in the morning when it's cool.
3. Tomorrow afternoon it is supposed to be 88 degrees.
4. I find that I am pretty tired after work.
I'm hoping that having a group there will help me get through it. If not, then I'll have to make myself run 12 by myself Sunday when I get back into town. That will likely not happen.
