The hardest run ever, Part 2

After the run, I drove home. I felt really sick and out of it on the drive. I decided to stop in Rivergate at Target (I needed new re-chargeable batteries for the trip) and I needed to use the bathroom. Walking through the store, I kind of felt like I wasn't there. I used the bathroom when I went in and also after I checked out. I went straight to the batteries, straight to the checkout and straight home.

Once home, I tried to eat part of a cookie, but could only manage one bite. I was so tired. I felt like I could have fallen asleep standing up against the counter. I made it upstairs and ran a bath. I got into the bathtub and immediately tilted my head forward and rested it against the faucet. I wanted to sleep so bad.

Finally, I got out of the bath, took a quick shower and got into bed. Foregoing packing and getting ready for my early flight.

When I woke up at 3am I felt fine. My legs were a little sore, but otherwise I didn't feel any different than I would any other day at 3am.

Apparently, my glycogen levels were completely depleted. The bright side is that I made it through the run and didn't quit early (like I kept thinking I was going to for the last mile or so). I'm not so sure that was a smart thing to do, though. Next time, I don't need to push myself so far to the point of exhaustion like that. There were moments when I was actually a little scared at just how bad I felt. I've got to be more careful than that.
