I've been MIA for quite some time now and I apologize for that. But I bet you didn't even notice my absence since Amy's been kicking ass in her running and blogging about it. So I gotta give Amy a huge shout-out for keeping up our blog single-handedly.
You see, Amy and I started blogging our running experiences several years ago, when we were training for our first marathon together, albeit in different cities. We were sort of like virtual training partners. Well, since then, Amy has gone on to run 4 more. And me? Well, I've had good intentions and hopes and plans of running another, but...due to a string of annoying injuries, work, life, and (insert excuse here), I've yet to do so. Until now.
This bitch is back.
Running the Firecracker 5k last Friday marked my official come-back. Now I know a 5k seems like a wimpy ass come-back, but its just the first step...the first phase of my master plan. I am currently registered for 11 races. Yes, you read that right. 11 races. In addition to another 5k on Saturday, I will run the first race in the Memphis Road Runners Race Series on Sunday. The Road Race Series consists of:
two 5 milers
two 10 milers
I will become a Road Warrior. The series goes from July through November which is a perfect build up to the St. Jude Marathon in December. I am pumped.
So it's nice to meet some of you and get reacquainted with others.
I'm here to stay.
